Our Vicar

We were delighted to welcome our new vicar, Chris Rankine, who was formally collated and inducted on 29th October 2013, and also his wife, Fiona, and family.

Chris was brought up in Warminster, Wiltshire, and studied accountancy at Portsmouth Poly before working for USPG in India and then at the YMCA conference centre in Sussex.  He was selected for ordination and did his training in Lincoln.  After serving in Farlington, Portsmouth, then Gosport, he moved to Romsey Abbey and then to Andover where he and his family lived for the thirteen years prior to coming to St Lawrence.

Chris and Fiona have four children, although all but one have now 'flown the nest'.  Joe, their youngest, has moved with them to Eastcote.  They are a close family and enjoy spending time together.  They love travel and especially Italy (always by train!).  Chris has a long association with scouts and loves all the usual outdoor stuff, especially challenging walks.  Fiona loves cooking and he loves eating!  They like entertaining friends and have a dog.

Shortly after arrival, Chris wrote: "We are delighted to have come to St Lawrence and to Eastcote and are enjoying meeting people as we settle in here.  We look forward to getting to know many more of you as we work with the Church to serve the wider local community.“
